ENGINE 44 RESCUES A RED TAIL HAWK |

A civilian stopped at the station and asked for the assistance in rescuing a red tail hawk. Engine 44 arrived to find the hawk (a pet) hanging upside down from the leather straps on its tallons. The crew attempted to us a 35’ ladder and was about 10’ short. Engine 44 was backed up to the wooded area and extended out 85’ to make the rescue. The hawk was stressed but would recover.
